SAS Nagar Police Registers FIR in Illegal Mining Case

To curb illegal mining activities in the district Sahibazada Ajit Singh Nagar, Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified persons under sections 21 (1) and 4 (1) of Mines and Minerals (Regulation of Development) Act 1957 at Majri Police Station.
      Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that there is a zero tolerance policy to illegal mining activities in the district. Any one found indulged in such activities will be dealt with sternly.
       She said that as soon as the information was received about the illegal mining site at Miyanpur Changar, previous day, an administrative team led by SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh was immediately rushed to the site to check the facts and after their confirmation, immediately FIR was recommended against the culprits. She said that preliminary a heavy digging machine has been recovered near the site which is owned by private people. She said that the revenue department has been asked to ascertain the ownership of the land to act further.
      Deputy Commissioner Jain said that the District Police has been urged for time bound investigation of the case and to book the accused behind this illegal mining.
